Travel
Our recommendation for reaching Victoria is to fly into Vancouver (YVR) and then take a connector to Victoria (YYJ), noting a slight layover in Vancouver based on schedule for the connection. For reference, March 14, 2024 is a travel day with no scheduled meetings or activities. The meeting will convene at 7:00 am on March 15, 2024, with breakfast and lunch served, same schedule on March 16 with the sessions ending around 6:00 pm each day. On March 17, 2024, the meeting will conclude around 9:00 am.
Arriving to Vancouver Islands by Ferry
BC Ferries sails between Vancouver (Tsawwassen Terminal) and Victoria (Swartz Bay Terminal). The Tsawwassen Terminal is located approximately 30 km (18.5 miles) south of Vancouver International Airport, with bus and taxi transport to Tsawwassen available at the airport. BC Ferries offers a scenic option for traveling to Victoria, however the last daily sailing at either terminal is at 21:00, and therefore is only feasible for flights that arrive into Vancouver prior to 17:30. Schedule and fare information is available at www.bcferries.com. The following options are available for travel from Swartz Bay Terminal to the Fairmont Empress Hotel: Taxi or BC Ferries Connector - which stops next to the Fairmont Empress.
